Arlington Girls Edge Strong Field in Nebraska Capitol Conference

    By Dean BackesNovember 24, 2025

After pouring through oodles of statistics, all-state, all-conference and all-area teams, last year's state tournament bracket and plenty of postseason rankings, we have uncovered our Nebraska Capitol Conference projections for 2025-26.

Arlington edged out Yutan in the Nebraska Capitol Conference race simply because the Eagles have what we think is the top 1-2 punch returning for the 2025-26 season. Welcoming back seniors Emerson Timm and Macy Wolf, Tashia Wolf has a ton of talent with which to work.

Timm knocked down 14.7 points a contest and pulled down 4.3 rebounds to go with 157 assists, 82 steals and five blocked shots as a junior in 2024-25. The 5-foot-6 guard earned Second Team Class C1 All-State honors by both the Omaha World Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star, First Team All-Nebraska Capitol Conference and First Team All-Omaha Area.

Wolf averaged 11.1 points and 4.0 rebounds a night while dishing out 63 assists, swiping 30 enemy balls and blocking nine shots for the Eagles who finished 21-5 a year ago. The 5-foot-9 shooting guard was placed on the Honorable Mention Class C1 All State Teams by the Omaha World Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star and found a spot on the Second Team All-Nebraska Capitol Conference squad and earned Honorable Mention All-Omaha Area.

Yutan, who lost to the Eagles twice by a total of eight points a year ago, returns senior Mylee Tichota who went off on Yutan opponents for 16.0 points and 8.7 boards a game and posted 87 assists, 94 steals and blocked 25 shots to earn First Team Class C2 All-State honors in both the Omaha World Herald and the Lincoln Journal Star.

The 5-foot-11 point guard was also named to the Nebraska Capitol Conference's First Team and was tabbed a Second Team All-Omaha Area performer. Senior Jenna Trent and sophomore Addi Jones combined for 11.6 points a game and 10.2 boards for the 18-7 Chieftains in 2024-25.

    Enough of my rambling. Enjoy!
