South Loup Boys have what it Takes to Scratch out a Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference Title

    By Dean BackesNovember 19, 2025

After pouring through oodles of statistics, all-state, all-conference and all-area teams, last year's state tournament bracket and plenty of postseason rankings, we have uncovered our Mid-Nebraska Activities Conference projections for 2025-26.

South Loup's early postseason loss to Sutton in the C2-8 Subdistrict Tournament last February, will soon fade away if our prognostication holds up. The Bobcats went 18-5 a year ago and had won 11 of 12 games going into their 58-48 loss to the Mustangs.

South Loup, however, brings back seniors Conner Paulsen and Crew Witthuhn both of whom earned First Team All-Mid Nebraska Activities Conference honors in 2024-25. Also returning is Honorable Mention All-Conference honoree Dylan Pandorf, also a senior.

Twin Loup has the roster that could overtake the Bobcats. Chris Beran returns sophomore Yahya Harris who earned First Team All-Mid Nebraska Activities Conference honors as well. The 6-foot-2 point guard averaged 18.6 points and 6.1 rebounds a year ago while also producing 100 assists, 44 steals and 22 blocked shots.

Junior Jackson Hall, junior Luqman Harris, senior Mace Beran and junior Carter Hall all combined for more than 26 points a contest with Harris leading the way with 8.3 points a night.

    Enough of my rambling. Enjoy!
