Cougars Sitting High in the Crossroads Conference

    By Dean BackesOctober 2, 2025

After pouring through oodles of statistics, all-state, all-conference and all-area teams, last year's state tournament bracket and plenty of postseason rankings, we have made our Crossroads Conference projections for 2025-26.

Mitch Boshart guided Cross County to a 24-3 record and the Class C2 state basketball tournament a year ago. With the return of seniors Eden Peterson, Adrienne Waller, Ema Dickey and Ella Clark, the Cougars have an outstanding shot at returning to Nebraska's version of March Madness in 2025-26.

Dorchester went 25-3 a year ago and stands in the way of the Cougars. Brandon Bruha returns senior Bailey Theis who helped guide the Longhorns to the Class D2 state title contest a year ago.

Seniors Gahvrielle Lesiak and Peyton Hofmann return after helping High Plains Community's to a 19-8 season a year ago while Twin River hopes to improve on its 13-11 record with the return of juniors Jlee Van Driel, Grace Yrkoski, Mya Ramaekers and Sienna Beck.

    Enough of my rambling. Enjoy!
