Lincoln Pius X, North Platte and Omaha Nation Boys Open Seasons This Weekend

    By Dean BackesDecember 2, 2025

After pouring through oodles of statistics, all-state, all-conference and all-area teams, last year's state tournament bracket and plenty of postseason rankings, we have uncovered information for all three schools that are not affiliated with a conference for 2025-26.

Head coach Adam Brill takes Lincoln Pius X on the road at Blue Springs South (MO) Thursday. Then, the Thunderbolts turn around and host Blue Springs (MO) and Grain Valley (MO) Friday and Saturday.

Lincoln Pius X, who fell to Norris 52-49 in the Class B State Tournament Quarterfinals in March, brings back senior Charles Morrow who averaged 5.5 points and 3.5 rebounds during Pius X's run to the state tournament a year ago.

The 5-foot-9 guard added 57 assists, 31 steals and a couple of blocked shots as the Thunderbolts posted a 14-11 record a year ago. Hayden Huggins, a 6-foot-5 senior forward scored 2.0 points and reeled in 2.3 boards a contest while contributing 11 assists, six steals and a blocked shot for the year.

North Platte opens by hosting Norfolk Friday. Juniors Logan Hayes and Jake Kinkaid return for coach Jimmie Pack after productive campaigns a year ago. Hayes ripped the cords for 7.5 points and pulled down 3.7 rebounds a year ago to go with 25 assists, 20 steals and five blocked shots.

Kinkaid, meanwhile, added 6.9 points and 5.4 boards a contest for the Bulldogs while chipping in 31 assists, 22 steals and five blocked shots in 2024-25.

Omaha Nation will rely on seniors Dason Romo, Mitch Dunn, Keeso Kaaihue and Mitch Grant as the Chiefs open at Lyons-Decatur Northeast Thursday.

    Enough of my rambling. Enjoy!
